Introduction

We at Bombay Hospital College of Nursing has established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) as a post-accreditation quality sustenance measure. Since quality enhancement is a continuous process, the IQAC will be a part of the institution’s system and work towards realisation of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious and consistent overall performance of our College. For this, during the post-accreditation period, we will channelize all efforts and measures of the institution towards promoting its holistic academic excellence.

Objectives of the IQAC

The IQAC of Bombay Hospital College of Nursing is constituted to achieve the following objectives:

    • Development and application of quality benchmarks / parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of Bombay Hospital College of Nursing, Indore.
    • To act as an umbrellafor quality-related college activities and coordinate with all committees for the same.
    • Ensure internalization of the quality culture at Bombay Hospital College of Nursing.
    • Ensure enhancement and integration among the various activities of the College and institutionalize good practices.
    • Organization of workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
    • Documentation of the various programmes / activities at Bombay Hospital College of Nursing,  leading to quality improvement
    • To design OSCE for all academic courses  to test clinical skill performance and competence which is a  practical& real-world approach to learning and assessment. 
    • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) Of Bombay Hospital College of Nursing  based on the quality parameters developed by NAAC.
    • Collection and analysis of feedback responses from students, staff and other stakeholders.
    • Provide a sound basis for decision-making to improve institutional functioning

    • To promote research culture in our institution.

The IQAC should meet at least twice in a year

Quorum

The quorum for the meeting shall be two-third of the total number of members. The agenda, minutes and Action Taken Reports are to be documented with official signatures.

Guidelines for functioning of IQAC

    • Conduct IQAC meeting Twice a year.

    • Every year at the end of session IQAC has to be prepare AQAR and send it to NAAC using NAAC portal.
    • IQAC has to prepare plan of action for the next academic session along with Departments of the college.
    • Prepare master meeting schedule for all committees and make sure the meetings are organized and discussed plans are implemented accordingly and collect feedback.
    • At the end of the year collect report from all departments, committees such as grievance, curriculum, internal compliance, library committee, examination committee etc.
    • Conducts internal and external academic and administrative audit every year. Present the AQAR before the auditors and after audit submit the AQAR.
    • Plan and conduct IQAC meetings at least twice a year.
    • It is the prime responsibility of IQAC to initiate, plan and supervise various activities that are necessary to increase the quality of the education imparted in our college.
    • It has to promote and determine quality related activities and issues through various programmes and activities such as seminars, workshops, symposia, conferences, panel discussions, role playing exercises, (model) demonstrations, case studies, academic meetings and any such kind of event or programme for all the stakeholders of the institution.
